Driving Test – What to Expect

🧠 Before You Book
You must:

Pass your theory test

Speak to your instructor first
Tests should only be booked when you are approaching test standard.
🎯 Test Readiness
You should be able to:

Drive safely and consistently
-
Handle all road types
-
Pass mock driving tests
Having a test booked does not guarantee readiness.
📅 On the Day of Your Test
The test lasts around 40 minutes and includes:

Eyesight check
-
“Show me, tell me” vehicle questions

General driving
-
Independent driving (following signs or sat nav)
🚗 Using the Instructor’s Car
Use of the instructor’s car is:

At instructor discretion
-
Based on safety and ability
-
Only available to test-ready learners

Test timing is based on ability, not pressure

Rushing to test before ready often leads to failure
